Overview

A multimodal bag return system embedded into Blinkit's existing delivery flow, using wallet credits to incentivize packaging reuse without additional hardware.

The Problem

Quick commerce platforms generate significant single-use packaging waste, but no in-app mechanism exists to close the loop. Users won't adopt sustainability features that add friction.

The Approach

Research across 64 survey responses, on-site Blinkit warehouse interviews, and focus groups revealed that waste is behavioral, not infrastructural. The solution embeds a bag return prompt into the existing delivery handoff users hand bags to the delivery partner, scan via phone camera, and receive instant wallet credit. No new hardware, no separate trip.
