Overview

Satellite-guided reforestation tool that helps communities find ecologically and legally suitable land to plant trees.

The Problem

People wanting to plant trees have no way to know if a specific plot of land is suitable soil moisture, canopy cover, legal zoning, and native species requirements are all scattered across different sources.

The Approach

GROWhere pulls from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, SMAP soil moisture, Copernicus Land Cover, and OSM zoning data to score any clicked location in real time. The suitability panel surfaces NDVI, canopy cover, water access, and legal status in one place, and nudges users toward plantable ground when they drop a pin on a road or restricted zone.
